BRIDAL FLOWERS PAPAKATA, YORK

Tuesday 2nd July 2013

After a cold, wet, windy Friday it was fantastic to see the sun shining on Saturday, a perfect day for a wedding, especially when the reception is held in a Papakata.
The Bride's bouquet was a simple hand-tied posy of white Akito roses with a little foliage and her bridesmaids carried smaller versions.

WEDDING FLOWERS HOTEL DU VIN, YORK

Tuesday 2nd July 2013

We first met Craig and Mei a few months ago when they were looking for someone to dress their wedding venue, The Hotel du Vin, York for their wedding.
Mei knew exactly what she wanted and had sourced many of the items from China, including moss balls and artificial ivy and wisteria and had had it all shipped over.
It was a very early start for us on Sunday. We began to transform The Courtyard by creating a ceiling of hanging wisteria over the aisle which led up to a gazebo (which Craig and Mei had somehow managed to bring over from their home in Sussex). Troughs filled with gypsohyllia, ferns, soloman's seal and ivy lined the aisle and pots of foliage and white hydrangea completed the romantic, woodland look.
We felt our team had deserved and we all managed to enjoy a full English breakfast with all the trimmings whilst we waited for the dining room to empty of guests before we could carry out our decorations in there.
Once empty it was ladders out again fixing the moss balls high up in the skylight, with wisteria hanging around the edge. The sun was shining in, so it was really hot up there whilst we worked as fast as we could so that the hotel staff could put the dining tables in place and sit our tall, elegant silver candelabras on them.
This complete it was time to deliver Mei her bouquet which was made with a mixture of roses, lily of the valley, agapanthus, and ranunculi in soft creams and apricot.
It was very kind of Craig and Mei to invite us back to The Hotel du Vin later on in the evening. It was lovely to chat and have a glass of champagne and a piece of delicious wedding cake with them.

WEDDING FLOWERS POCKLINGTON SCHOOL CHAPEL & WOOD HALL, LEEDS

Tuesday 2nd July 2013

Cheerful yellow sunflowers brightened up the dreary wet weather on Saturday for Natalie's wedding flowers at Wood Hall, Leeds.
The table decorations were made in terracotta plant pots, filled with sunflowers, nigella, alchemilla mollis, bear grass and foliage.
All the buttonholes, apart from the Groom, who wore a white rose, were sunflowers. Natalie and her bridesmaids wore hair flowers and carried hand-tied posies all made with sunflowers.
It was lovely to see our friend, photographer Anne Marie King at Natalie's house. I'm sure there will be some photos of this wedding on her website soon.

WEDDING FLOWERS AT YORK HOSPITIUM, MUSEUM GARDENS, YORK

Tuesday 2nd July 2013

Two warm sunny days and two very lucky brides - firstly lovely Cate who had been a joy to work with throughout the planning of her flowers for her wedding at The Hospitium, York last Friday.
A 'French' theme included all lovely summery flowers in shades of pinks, lilacs, blues and reds arranged on glass cake stands which sat on mirrors and looked very chic.
Cate loved her red Carmen Rose bouquet made with Grand Prix roses and we can't wait to see her photos which were taken by our lovely friend Georgina Harrison.
Cate sent us this lovely email whilst waiting at the airport to fly off on honeymoon:
"Just a quick note to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for making the flowers (especially my bouquet) so incredible! I loved them so so much and feel sad it's all over now! Still the memories will last forever :-)"

WEDDING FLOWERS AT THE HOSPITIUM, YORK

Tuesday 2nd July 2013

Melanie's wedding ceremony was held at the beautiful St Olaves Church, Bootham and reception at The Hospitium, York.
We simply decorated the poles down the aisle with cream ribbon, a bow and hung small lanterns on them - just a small touch but made a huge difference.
Melanie loved her bouquet which was made with Akito roses, a little bear grass and a few roses had diamontes pinned in their centres which sparkled beautifully.
The pillars in The Hospitium were decorated with branches and fairy lights. They look magical.
Upstairs, on the tables we sat tall glass vases which had lovely ball shaped arrangements on top made using large headed ivory roses, hydrangea and foliage.

FLOWERS AT YORK MAZE, ELVINGTON, YORK

Monday 22nd April 2013

We really enjoyed working with Harriett. She had chosen the fabulous York Maze for her wedding blessing celebrations - a great venue anyway but even better on a warm sunny day - and Saturday's weather was just perfect.
Harriett had chosen to carry a bouquet which included blue muscari and forget-me-nots, ivory and purply coloured roses, lavender, ranuncula and jasmine.
We decorated the wooden pillars inside the Ceremony Room, with foliage, flowers and fairy lights and hung a massive chandelier of flowers from a high beam (well Tom from The Maze actually did this for us) which had little fairy lights intertwined. It looked great. Lots of lanterns and candles completed the magical look.
We always love working at York Maze - it's the perfect venue that you can dress however you like and nothing is to much trouble for Tom and Karen.

WEDDING FLOWERS AT CEDAR GRAND HOTEL, YORK

Monday 22nd April 2013

Another sunny day for Andrea's wedding. She had chosen to have her small ceremony and reception at Cedar Grand Hotel, York in The Chairman's Suite.
Andrea chose to carry a small hand-tied posy which included antique cream coloured roses, ranuncula and muscari tied with lace.
She had lovely, old fashioned small vases filled with just a few flowers and hired our elegant tall silver candleabras for the wedding breakfast table.

WEDDING FLOWERS AT THE HOSPITIUM, YORK

Tuesday 16th April 2013

Shades of pink and cream flowers were Jan's choice for her bridal and reception flowers at The Hospitium, York.
Jan's bouquet was a beautiful hand-tied posy made with peonies, roses including the wonderful fragranced Norma Jean rose, sweet peas and lily of the valley.
Matching flowers were used in the table decorations, some in tall and some in low glass vases.

WEDDING FLOWERS - THE CHURCHILL HOTEL, YORK

Tuesday 16th April 2013

Lovely, bubbly Simone was a pleasure to work with and she was so lucky, the sun was shining on her wedding day.
The wedding ceremony was held at Riccall Church where we decorated the pew ends with small informal bunches of flowers including, hydrangea, tulips, hyacinths, narcissi and muscari and these were tied with a simple cream ribbon.
A matching pedestal display at the front of the church and two curly stemmed tall ball bay trees at the beginning of the aisle completed the look.
